Colleen Wagner Coughlin has been a prominent leader in the field of IVF and Reproduction for more than 30 years. The Chicago native is the Founder and Laboratory Director of aParent IVF Laboratory, which has helped thousands of patients become parents (including Colleen whose own 3 IVF-born children were created in her lab).
Yet it’s her latest creation of OVA that has the embryologist most excited these days. “The creation of OVA came from my collective experiences over the years- Patients who could have served as their own egg donor, women who just wish they could have preserved their options. With OVA we’re giving women the chance to take control and when they’re ready to come back for those eggs someday, we’ll have them covered.”
The “Embryo-mama” has earned a multitude of awards including the 2015 Advocacy Award by Path2Parenthood (formerly The American Fertility Association) and was one of the first non-physicians to earn the prestigious Resolve Award for Patient Advocacy. In 2012, Colleen was named Chicago’s Top Embryologist by Michigan Avenue Magazine. She has been featured on Good Morning America, Nightline, Windy City Live, and in the Chicago Tribune.
